In 2005, "SPA & HEALTH Moscow" took place for the first time as a one day International Workshop & Conference. 450 visitors were welcomed; representatives of luxurious international and Russian SPAs and the most important Russian tour operators as well as tourism boards from 10 countries were among the participants. Due to the great success "SPA & Health Moscow" became a fixed part of the trade fair's programm.

It consists of a highly specialized international conference and presentations, which give an excellent insight into all aspects of health tourism. The presentations also introduce health & wellness resources and services of SPA destinations and Resorts.

International and Russian Spa professionals contributed to the success of the event. Among them were companies like: "PW Consulting International" (Germany), "Medi Consult" (USA, Europe), "Best Health Austria" (Austria), "Lopingco BHY Corporation" (Philippines), "SPA Technologies and Management" (Russia), "Innovative Management Partner Consulting (IMP)" (Slovakia) and SPA centers and sanatoriums like "Kivach" (Ruissia), "Abzakovo" (Russia), Beauty Palace "MADAM GRAND" (Russia), "Baltic Beach Hotel" (Latvia), "Mandara Spa" (Malaysia) and many others.

Wellness and beauty holidays are becoming extremely popular among Russian tourists due to an increase in awareness for health and beauty aspects. Spa visits are on top of the list of Russian holiday priorities. They appreciate good quality and are ready to spend a remarkable amount of money especically for spa and health therapies. Moreover the decision of choosing a destination or a recreation's place depends on the availability of the Spa centres in the region and healing services in the hotel.

Russian travellers start to expect more and more from their Spa & Health trips. More often they are using services of wellness and beauty spas abroad or rehabilitation centres in Russia.
